The Great Blue Heron is a symbol of the Chesapeake Bay foundation. I see the heron on the ponds and rivers everywhere on Delmarva. Making a wall quilt is creating a piece of art for your home. It is a great way to say “I love the wildlife around me”.
Here is a cross breed project from 2 different sewing machine companies. One link is from Baby Lock. See a great Blue Heron wall quilt idea. Baby Lock shows you how to put together a great background for the Blue Heron embroidery. If you do not own a Baby Lock embroidery machine with the Blue Heron embroidery built in, try the Singer free Blue Heron embroidery design. Here is the link.
If you would like to try your hand at auto digitizing the heron, I am including a wonderful graphic for you to use. Just click here or on the bird to the left to download the clip art.
