Lap Quilt Club meeting for December 2019

Lesson twelve – Binding the quilt is the lesson for December 19th. We will practice the binding and mitering on a sample block that has been quilted. Cut the binding 3″ X 45″ across the width of your fabric. You will need enough widths to go around your quilt plus enough for your sample block. Prepare your binding in class. Start by trimming off the selvages on the end of each strip. Piece the border strips end to end to form one long strip. Stream press the border in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Bring to class enough border that is prepped to go around your quilted  free motion block sample with a small overlap. See you in class. Bring your walking foot.
