Sewing Classes available at Jenny’s Sewing Studio for Fall and Winter 2012 and 2013

I have just added a brand new sewing class schedule for Jenny’s Sewing Studio in Salisbury, MD. Classes are available at Hancock Fabrics and you can enroll in person or by calling 410 677-3461. My class schedule is also available in a calender view. Check out the class that is available this week or month at a glance.

Brand New classes have been added for our Fall/Winter session.

Beginner basics 1 teaches the very beginner how to use the sewing machine, sew seams, pivot, hand stitch, sew in a zipper, read a pattern, pick fabrics and cut and sew a project all in 3- 2 hour sessions. This class is also available as 1 all day session. View our basic polar fleece vest project. I think it will be a fun item and will fit into everyones wardrobe.

Our Beginner Basics 2 is a beginner class for those who have taken our beginner basic 1 class and understand how to sew a seam and use their sewing machine. We will Use Butterick See and Sew pattern 5702. Please bring the pattern to class and fit the pattern to your bust measurement. We will do any needed alterations and then purchase fabric and sew the jacket in 3-2 hour sessions.

Beginner Basics 3 class is another great beginner choice of projects for you to make. You should your sewing machine and be able to sew a straight seam. Learn to do a lined vest and buttonholes in a 3 session class. Bring McCall’s The 1st class will be a fitting session and purchase your supplies. Be creative with the vest and do a patchwork choice or choose a creative fabric. We will interface the vest and sew the project in the next 2 sessions. Project is great for women and men.

Another creative class I have added to the schedule is “More sewing machine skills!” If you took the Sewing machine basics class and would like to continue learning more about your machine, decorative stitches and additional accessories, this is the class for you.  Learn to use the twin needle, try a hemstitch wing needle and try the cording foot. We will do a smocking sample using decorative stitches and try a puffing strip using the gathering foot. See what your machine will do!

Our “Fabric Quilted Purse” and our “Strip Piece Quilted Purse” class has been combined so you can create either one you choose.  One student this past year created her favorite football team purse in class and has plans to sell them later.

I hope to see you in class soon!

Jenny
