I
have been having fun with the endless hoop on the Futura Quintet. I thought the border designs would be great for my Strip pieced purse pattern. The Futura Quintet has a lot of the border designs built-in. As you can see by my sample I used the large floral pattern. The only problems I ran into was that the jump stitches were so long that the top thread would break between the branches. Advise is to slow the machine way down and turn off the cutter.
I cut a solid strip 
of fabric about 6″ wide and I stabilized the strip with fuse and tear on the wrong side of the fabric. To keep the design in line make sure the fabric strip is cut straight to line up with guide on the inside of the hoop. The machine will sew markers to align with at the beginning and the end of the design.
I have a pieced purse class in Salisbury, MD on January 15th. Make the wallet to match on January 20th. This project is good for all that know sewing machine use. Here is a picture of Holly, one of my purse students, showing off her new purse. Holly has only been sewing for 1 year.
