Lap Quilting is taught at Jenny’s Sewing Studio in Salisbury, MD. The Lap Quilt Club is held each month. Beginners are welcome. The club is taught by Jennifer Friedel of Jenny’s Sewing Studio. You are invited to join our brand New Session Now.
All are welcome to join our New Lap Quilt session starting January 16th! The group will meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 2pm. The sessions are about 2 hours long. The monthly fee is $5.00. Each session will introduce techniques to help you piece a traditional sampler Lap Quilt. The quilt size you decide to make is up to you. Enroll Now as space is limited .
Lap Quilting involves almost all styles of piecing and quilting. Lap Quilts are made from portable quilts sections that allow the quilter to work smaller blocks one at a time and assemble the quilted blocks to form a completed quilt. Working the quilt in smaller sections allows almost anyone to “handle” any size quilt.
Georgia Bonesteel’s Lap Quilt book is required. Find the book on Amazon or Thriftbooks.com. For the first session you will need template plastic, scissors to cut the template plastic and to cut fabric, fine tip sharpie black marker, a wash away marker and a straight edge ruler. Also asking each student to bring 1 yard of 3 quilter cotton fabrics to learn about making blocks from templates.
