Lap Quilting from the Beginning – January 2020 – 2nd Thursday (Class Filled)

$5.00(2nd Thursday class is full! Try the 3rd Thursday for a spot) Lesson one– January 9th is the Introduction of Lap Quilting and the book by Georgia Bonesteel. There will be a review of what supplies and fabrics are needed. Learn how to design a quilt using the traditional lap quilt blocks. Your quilt can be any color you wish and any size. Bring a 1/2 yard of 3 100% quilters cotton fabric (light, medium and dark that blend) to the 1st class and we will use a wash away marker to mark your 1st blocks. You will need the book Lap Quilting by Georgia Bonesteel and should be able to find it on thrift books.com “used”. Also bring template plastic, a ruler and a black sharpie to make the templates plus a pair of scissors to cut the plastic and the fabric. Bring 3 sandwich baggies to put your cut fabric into. Watch Lesson one power point presentation to get some ideas about the fabrics. (No sewing machine needed for the first lesson.)
Learn to create templates. Homework will be to make all the templates in the book for lesson 2.
