On Saturday Vicki, Ruth and Grace attended the latest Lap Quilting session at Jenny’s Sewing Studio. There was a lot of show and tell. Vicki has just completed her double sized Lap Quilt. She started the quilt in January 2020 and continued to work on the project through Covid. Vicki attended zoom classes and in person sessions to work on the project. I am including a picture of the quilt below.
For May we did the Sails in the Sunset block. The block included curved piecing and 1/2 square triangle fast piecing techniques.
Our next block will be the Star Flower found on page 13 in the “Lap Quilting ” by Georgia Bonesteel” book. We are using the Square B and Triangle H template and preparing for the quick piecing method. You will need 3 fabrics. One dark color, one floral, and one light color. I will email the preparation instructions to all lap quilt members.
All the Lap Quilting students have been vaccinated or are wearing a mask to the sessions. I hope you will decide to start a new Lap Quilt project this summer.
