I am writing this article with a heavy heart…my brother who was only 11 months younger than me, died of a massive heart attack on Saturday August 13th at 6:30pm. I am still in shock. Sharing this is helpful to me, I hope you do not mind. Thinking of his life and all the memories is wonderful. Sharing the information makes the passing more real, although I still can not wrap my head around it and would give anything to make it not so. Gerald and I grew up together like twins. I can not believe he is gone. I will miss him greatly. He was someone who was always there, he looked out over us. That is what he was doing today, helping people.
My brother Gerald was called Jerry by his friends, he was a husband to Sue, a father to Michael and Laura, and a grandfather to Nolan. My brother Jim, my mom and I will think of him with love everyday. He was part of me.
