Jenny’s Sewing Studio has created several photo embroideries to give you some ideas of how to create a good, bad, ugly and great embroidery photo. If you own the SINGER Futura or the Compucon Stitch and Sew option called Photo Stitch you can add the photo stitch option for a very smart price. Now you can take a photo of your pet, your grandchild or even yourself and stitch it out.
The secret to a great embroidery photo is a clean background and a photo closeup. If you consider the hoop is only 4.5″ X 6.75″ it will help you relate to the artwork. If you have ever done cross stitch you know the count, or the number of pixcel determines the clarity of the finished product. Take a look at the designs we illustrated here! Notice how close-up we are! The cat was the hardest design to do as the contrast was minimal however the result was great. If you desire photo embroidery consider the Photo stitch option for the SINGER Futura. If you have the older Futura you may consider upgrading to get the new line design feature in the photo stitch option.
Here are the 3 options in the photo stitch. You can do running stitch which is our 1st example. You can choose 4 color, which sews faster, you can add special cropping, and the design is less intense with great results. This is the second example. Lastly You can choose monotone for the hint of the image. It all depends on the effect you want. Here is a video of how photo stitch works. This demo uses the Compucon version.
